DAVIN SCITES

My Dad, Jack
Scites,
Compete in
the NASCAR
series in
the late
60"s early
70"s. Jack
Scites then
decided to
quit racing
and bought
Davin a
go-kart when
he was five
years old
and that's
when it all
began.
Competing
for many
years in
go-karts
and winning
in West
Virginia,
Ohio, and
Kentucky,
Davin felt
he was ready
to move up
and decided
to buy a
Legend Car.
Davin's
first race
was Ona,
West
Virginia
where he won
that night.
He competed
in legends
for three
years and in
that time
won Three
National
Championships,
Two At
Charlotte
Motor
speedway,
and a Road
Course at
Firebird
Raceway,
Phoenix,
Arizona.
Deciding to
pursue a
career in
racing
rather than
pursing
college,
Davin
progressed
to the
NASCAR Late
Model
Series.
"Racing is
something
I've wanted
to do my
whole life,"
says Davin
"In 1996,
when I was
attending
Marshall
University,
the time
came for me
to make a
choice about
my future: I
either had
to focus on
racing
full-time,
or decide on
a new
profession
and begin
training for
it. I chose
racing, and
I've never
looked
back."
He began
driving five
hours each
way to the
Carolinas to
compete in
NASCAR Late
Model Stocks
at various
tracks in
the south.
"Late Models
taught me a
lot going to
big races at
Myrtle
Beach,
Martinsville,
New River
Valley and
many other
tracks."
In
2000 he ran
a limited
schedule for
two seasons
in ASA. In
2003 ran a
full
schedule
becoming the
only Rookie
to win a
race in ASA
2003 season.
In 2004 SS
Racing
called Davin
to Drive Ten
Races in ASA,
He Moved to
Indianapolis,
IN where he
raced,
worked on
the cars,
and also was
a crew chief
from time to
time. He is
currently
living in
North
Carolina
where he has
many more
chapters to
fill...and
many more
championships
and races to
win.
